In September 2006, Tara, the schooner flying the French flag, was imprisoned by the ice pack, north of Siberia. On board, eight men and two dogs embarked on a strange journey, crossing the icy Arctic Ocean as the ice drifted.

A beautiful book by Vincent Hilaire, with a preface by Isabelle Autissier, president of the WWF, extending Tara's missions in the Arctic and Antarctic, through 80 black and white photos and extracts from the logbooks.

The Blue Book, produced with the support of the French Global Environment Facility (FFEM), tells the story and objectives of this unique expedition which, for two and a half years, criss-crossed the Pacific Ocean from east to west, north to south, in search of samples of these precious corals now threatened with extinction. In the heart of the Pacific, the scientists studied the coral reefs, the populations that depend on them and the preservation projects that they support. Today, they testify to the challenges of preservation and the degradation underway.
